eject broken

Reported by: scdbackup@… Owned by: pygi
Priority: major Milestone:
Component: libburn Version: TRUNK
Keywords: Cc:

Description

The eject feature of function burn_drive_release() does not work. I tested with kernels 2.4 and 2.6 /dev/sg0 resp. /dev/hdc.

Currently cdrskin is forced to use external program eject. Since eject does not work with /dev/sgX , users of kernel 2.4 have to submit an additional eject address in some cases.

Any objections against incorporating uni-eject[1] with libburn?

[1] https://sourceforge.net/projects/unieject/

Changed 4 years ago by scdbackup@…

Currently cdrskin forks an eject command. So if the new thing would be built into libburn, it would be clearly a progress.

But given the fact that libburn talks intimately with the burner, shouldn't it try to issue some ejectoid command directly ? (MMC or SCSI or whatever ?) Maybe one should try to find out what growisofs does. (I am reluctant to exploit the source of cdrecord in any way.)

My vote: implement it by what means ever and then look wether you can find a more elegant solution. I will test it as soon as it becomes available.

Recently, the U.S. media published a selection which was conducted by the professionals, concerning the most attractive women. Michelle Obama topped the rank. There is no need to wonder why Angelina Jolie and Gisele Bundchen, the sweetest creatures, are left far behind. Simple! Just think about the results if women as them are in the office. Maybe Michelle Obama has no advantages in figure and appearance, but her taste on fashion and ability on costume and jewelry deserve the admiration of all people. Taking her age, taste, status, and figure into consideration, global women in the middle class get an ideal example to follow. As to the women in managing level, they also have their true charm bracelet icon at last. It is well acknowledged that Michelle Obama has a special affection toward pearls. Besides, she tries to stack up her silver links of london bracelet by wearing Cartier upon links of london, winning a wide admiration. This kind of lamination keeps the focus of eyes and increases the sense of jewels' gradation whose luxury and brightness makes her too charming to be ignored. However, these links of london charms are mainly for women with certain abilities, capacity, qualities, and experience. And these women really need a piece of bright diamond jewel in order to be confident among women in the same class. But it is too expensive for young ladies to afford the lamination of diamonds. So silver jewelries are best choice for them, Tiffany or Channel jewellery, for instance. Paying close attention to the first lady is to follow the fashion and enjoy happy life as office ladies.
